Common questions.
Does the game need Wi-Fi or an account?
No. Every game mode, local profile, collection, and backup works without an account or internet connection. Game Center is optional and needs an Apple Game Center connection only when you choose to use it.
Where is each player’s progress saved?
Each local profile keeps its own Vault, badges, history, favorites, custom cards, settings, Daily streak, and progress on this device. Nothing is uploaded to Human Renaissance.
How do I move progress to another device?
Open Settings, choose the backup tools, and export a family backup. On the other device, import that JSON backup. You decide where the exported file goes; the app never sends it to us.
Why did my Lightning timer pause?
The timer pauses when the app is interrupted or moves to the background, so a phone call or accidental app switch cannot steal game time. Return to the app to continue.
Can the game read a choice aloud?
Yes. Turn on Read Aloud in Settings. The app uses the voices built into your iPhone or iPad and follows the language selected for that player.
How do I change the language or accessibility settings?
Open More, then Settings. You can choose a language, larger text, higher contrast, reduced effects, read aloud, haptics, music, and sound. The app follows the system Reduce Motion setting and includes labeled controls for VoiceOver.
How do I erase a player or all saved data?
Open the profile picker to remove a local player. The app keeps at least one playable profile. Deleting This or That from the device removes every profile and all app data stored there.
What does Game Center share?
If you choose Game Center, Apple handles sign-in and receives the Daily Challenge score you submit. This or That does not create an account of its own and does not send that information to Human Renaissance.
